Meet Gillian Carlyon

A dedicated Hatha teacher, Thai Yoga massage practitioner and Yoga Nidra teacher trainer, Gillian bring her amazing expertise and kindhearted soul to offer a taste of the healing powers of both Thai Yoga Massage and Yoga Nidra.

Friday Session: Yoga Nidra, “Conscious Deep Sleep of the Ancient Sages”

Allow Yoga Nidra to take you by the hand and lead you on a guided tour of your inner mind and spirit. In common everyday meditation you remain in the waking state of consciousness and gently focus the mind, while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations and images to come and go.  However, in Yoga Nidra you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state and go to deep sleep yet remain awake. While Yoga Nidra is a state that is very relaxing, it is also used by Yogis to purify the Samskaras, the deep impressions that are the driving force behind Karma.

The power of Yoga Nidra is far greater than just a physical relaxation of the body.  This practice also helps to reset how you think, react and respond throughout your daily life by reprogramming your brain.   The benefits of Yoga Nidra are far reaching from helping deal with stress, improving sleep and even learning new skills such as languages or public speaking.

Yoga Nidra is an ancient traditional Yoga practice supported by scientific research and life changing testimony.

We will start the class with a Sankalpa setting exercise followed by preparatory Hatha Yoga sequences and end with an extended Yoga Nidra practice.

Saturday Session: Thai Yoga Massage, “The Essence of Touch”

Discover more about the self-healing, ancient practice of Thai Yoga Massage.  The essence of touch and massage has existed since time began – amongst all living beings. Through Meditation, Mantra and Movement we create a ´Sacred Dance`.   When we apply the principles of Thai Yoga Massage and connect to our heart, there are many benefits for the structural body but the practice goes beyond mind, form and matter. Thai Yoga Massage is the spiritual awakening and a unique transformation which is exactly what makes this massage so sacred.

During the workshop we will cover the many benefits of TYM, learn special techniques for self-massage and the massage of others.  We will connect physically, mentally and emotionally with each other.

Come and experience this Sacred Dance and the benefits of healing touch as we dance together.

“Feel the presence of their breath and of yours,
Feel the weight of their body and of yours,
Acknowledge the beauty of the soul, unify all and move and dance
Ever in ease, with no judgements,
For the good of all your brothers and sisters” – Dayalu
